The Park Cities Learning Disabilities Association (PCLDA) is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to advancing the education and general welfare of children with learning disabilities. PCLDA was chartered in 1975 to stimulate public and private action to meet the needs of these children. PCLDA is affiliated with the state organization Learning Disabilities Association of Texas, local affiliates across the State of Texas and the national organization Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA). The PCLDA membership includes families in the HPISD area, and professionals in the fields of education and the social sciences concerned with the problems of those with learning disabilities.
PCLDA publishes a quarterly newsletter, Keys to Unlock the Mind, and maintains this website to provide general information and links to do further research. Additionally, PCLDA supports our local community of children with learning issues, their families and their teachers by providing financial support to HPISD for teacher training, student scholarships to graduating seniors, funding for teachers to attend relevant seminars and workshops, scholarships for teachers seeking advanced degrees, parent educational programs, a parent library stocked with resource materials, and annual teacher appreciation awards.
The work of PCLDA is completely dependant on the generosity of the community of people who support the education and well being of children with learning issues. That generosity allows PCLDA to support children with learning issues, their families and their teachers.

The PCLDA Library is open to all parents and is located at the HPMS/McCulloch School Library.
